在I-Mart校园二手市集收摊的傍晚,John正一边汇总各摊位的结算单,一边和社团老师确认下周高尔夫训练的时间。他的背包里,塞着一副磨旧的高尔夫手套和一沓BPA商赛的线下调研表——这种“多线程”运转的状态,几乎贯穿了他整个高中生活。
中考后从公立体系转入新哲雅博学部十年级,John有一段适应调整期:全英文授课、互动式的课堂、自主规划的ECA课外拓展课……一切都与过去不同。
但他很快发现,在新哲,成长从来不止于成绩单上的数字——语言能力、商业思维、领导力、运动素养,就连情绪管理,也被视为一门值得认真修习的课程,他逐渐融入这片重视全人发展的土壤,在自由而多元的环境中,自在生长。
他在学生会统筹跨部门协作,在经济学课堂和各类商赛中打磨商业逻辑,在高尔夫社团挥杆沉淀心性。如今,他手握加州大学戴维斯分校等多所公立名校的商科录取,一个兼具行动力、思辨力与人文温度的未来商业青年,已然初具轮廓。
本期【新少年Vol.71】,我们走进2026届毕业生赵子彦(John)在新哲雅博学部的多面成长。
As dusk fell at the closing of the I-Mart Campus Flea Market, John tallied booth settlements while confirming next week’s golf training schedule with his club advisor. His backpack held a well-worn golf glove and stacks of BPA competition survey forms. Juggling multiple tasks has defined his entire high school life.
After transferring to Grade 10 of the Sendelta Liberal Arts Program from a public school post the high school entrance exam, John went through an adjustment period. Fully English-taught courses, interactive classes and self-directed ECAs were all brand new to him.
Yet he soon realized growth at Sendelta means far more than grades. Language proficiency, business thinking, leadership, athletic skills and emotional management are all valued here. He thrived in this diverse, free environment dedicated to holistic development.
He coordinated cross-department work in the Student Union, honed business acumen in economics classes and competitions, and cultivated poise through golf. Now admitted to top public universities including UC Davis for business, he has emerged as a dynamic, thoughtful and compassionate young business talent.

01高尔夫不仅是爱好,更是思维方式
John从14岁开始打高尔夫,标准杆90杆,打球的足迹遍布10个国家。但对他而言,这项运动的意义远不止于竞技本身:“它教会我在压力下保持冷静,在不确定中做出判断。”
这份沉稳,延伸到了校园领导力的实践中。John十年级时,新哲**高尔夫校队,成员多为已有基础的业余运动员,而对这项运动感兴趣却零基础的同学,缺乏一个入门的平台。
于是,John和好朋友决定从零开始创办高尔夫社团——撰写成立申请、制作答辩材料、对接校内外资源、协调训练场地,甚至为社员争取到校外练习场的集训机会。

如今,社团已发展到了40余名成员,成为校园**活力的体育社群之一。“很多人觉得高尔夫是‘精英运动’,”他说,“但我想让它变得可及、有趣。”

在他看来,运营社团就像经营一家小型企业:“你得理解用户需求,合理配置资源,还要懂得如何协作与沟通。”
John took up golf at 14. Playing to a 90-par standard, he has competed across 10 countries. To him, golf is more than a sport: "It teaches me to stay calm under pressure and make judgments amid uncertainty."
This composure also fuels his campus leadership. When he entered Grade 10, Sendelta only had a school golf team for experienced amateur players, leaving beginners with no proper platform to learn.
Together with his friend, John founded a golf club from scratch. They drafted applications, prepared presentation documents, connected resources, arranged venues and secured off-campus training opportunities for members.
Now the club boasts over 40 members and ranks among the most dynamic sports communities on campus. "Many see golf as an elite sport," he shares, "but I want to make it accessible and fun for everyone."
He compares running the club to managing a small business: "You need to identify demands, allocate resources wisely, and master teamwork and communication."
02从I-Mart到模投赛:商业思维在真实场景中生长
John的商业启蒙始于五年级在父亲公司打工的经历。但真正点燃他兴趣的,是新哲的经济学与商科课程。“以前以为经济学就是赚钱,后来发现它是理解世界的工具。”
这种理解,很快落地为行动:
他带队参加中学生投资挑战(SIC) 和沃顿全球投资挑战(KWHS),用ESG理念设计投资组合;
在中国商业精英挑战(BPA) 中,他以“高尔夫+文旅”为题,调研用户、撰写商业计划、完成路演、斩获金奖;

最令人称道的是I-Mart校园市集——作为主统筹的学生会成员,面对摊主报名不足的困境,他没有放弃,而是用一套“8+12”盈利模型说服校方投入资源,最终为学校创收3000元,并形成可持续运营模式。

“新哲给我的最大自由,是允许我把课堂知识变成真实项目。”他说,“在这里,老师不会说‘这不现实’,而是问‘你需要什么支持?’”
John’s business awareness first emerged when he worked at his father’s company in Grade Five. Yet it was business and economics courses at Sendelta that truly sparked his passion. "I once thought economics was just about making money, but now I see it as a tool to understand the world."
He put his knowledge into practice actively.
He led teams to join the Student Investment Challenge (SIC) and Wharton Global High School Investment Competition (KWHS), building investment portfolios based on ESG principles.
In the Business Professionals of America (BPA) China competition, he created a business plan themed on golf plus cultural tourism, covering market research, plan writing and project pitching.
He also led the I-Mart Campus Flea Market. Faced with insufficient booth registrations, he proposed an "8+12" profit model to win school support. The event generated 3,000 yuan in revenue and established a sustainable operating system.
"Sendelta grants me the freedom to turn textbook knowledge into real projects," he said. "Teachers never dismiss ideas as unrealistic, but always ask what support I need."
03雅博的底色:不追求“学霸”,而是培养“完整的人”
相比于新哲AP学部,雅博学部的学术更注重夯实基础与学以致用。John的标化成绩稳步提升,离不开学部对语言能力的系统性强化——通过丰富的标化课程与强调真实场景应用的语言训练,他逐步建立起扎实的学术英语能力。
不同于追求学科难度的路径,雅博更关注学生是否真正理解、能否灵活运用。尤其对于从公立体系转轨、语言基础尚在积累阶段的学生,这里提供了一个包容、支持且目标清晰的成长环境,让每个人都能按自己的节奏稳步前行。

而他的领导力、时间管理、解决问题的能力,则在一次次活动统筹中淬炼成型。
“刚转学时我有一段时间焦虑到失眠,”他坦承,“在老师和学校的包容和支持下,以及学会用高尔夫和骑行调节情绪,我慢慢找回节奏。”
这份“找回”,离不开新哲对个体成长节奏的尊重——在这里,没有统一的速度表,只有因人而异的支持系统。他的班主任、升学老师始终密切关注他的状态,密切约谈、帮他梳理优先级,鼓励他积极参与校园社区建设。
正是这种无微不至的陪伴,让他敢于试错、敢于承担。10年级,他在学生会新闻部担任干事,在文艺汇演担任志愿者;11年级,他成功竞选学生会副主席,同时备考AP、带队竞赛、运营社团,组织校级活动,却不再被压力吞噬——因为他知道,身后有一个相信他、托住他的环境。
Compared with Sendelta's AP Division, the Liberal Arts Program prioritizes solid fundamentals and practical application. John’s standardized test scores improved steadily, thanks to the division’s systematic language training. Diverse test courses and real-scenario practice helped him build strong academic English skills.
Rather than focusing solely on academic difficulty, the program emphasizes true understanding and flexible application. For students transferring from public schools who are still building language skills, it offers an inclusive, supportive environment with clear goals, allowing everyone to progress at their own pace.
His leadership, time management and problem-solving skills were polished through organizing various activities.
"I suffered from insomnia due to anxiety right after transferring," he admitted. With guidance from teachers, and by relieving stress through golf and cycling, I gradually got back on track."
Sendelta respects every student’s unique growth pace. There is no uniform schedule, but tailored support. His homeroom teacher and college counselor kept close track of his well-being, helped him set priorities and encouraged him to engage in campus activities.
With such thoughtful support, he grew brave enough to try new things and take on responsibilities. In Grade 10, he worked in the Student Union’s Press Department and volunteered for art galas. Elected Vice President of the Student Union in Grade 11, he juggled AP studies, competitions, club management and school events without feeling overwhelmed — for he knew the school always stood firmly behind him.

走向更广阔的人生赛场
这个录取季,John收获加州大学戴维斯分校、圣塔芭芭拉分校及罗格斯大学等多所名校录取,坚定选择商科方向。
站在高中毕业的门槛上,John已不是初中那个只知埋头背书的少年,如今的他,能在高尔夫球场上沉稳挥杆,也能在项目会议室里清晰陈述方案。
“新哲教会我:真正的精英,是能解决问题、创造价值的人。”
他说,“我不是学术型的学生,但我一直在自己的赛道上脚踏实地、全力以赴,将综合能力发展为我的优势。未来,我希望在大学深入学习经济学与商业管理,为将来接手家族企业、成为一名兼具责任感和专业能力的经营者做好充分准备。”
知行并进,向阳而行,祝福John在未来的赛场,挥出每一记漂亮的人生一杆。
This admission season, John received offers from top universities including UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and Rutgers University, and he has firmly chosen to pursue business studies.
Standing at the threshold of graduation, he is no longer the boy who only focused on rote memorization back in junior high. Now he swings calmly on the golf course and presents plans clearly in project meetings.
"Sendelta has taught me that a true elite is someone who can solve problems and create value."
"I am not a purely academic student," he said. "Yet I keep moving forward steadily and striving my best on my own path, turning comprehensive capabilities into my strengths. In college, I plan to delve into economics and business management, preparing to take over the family business and grow into a responsible and professional manager."
Combining knowledge with practice and moving forward with optimism. Wish John every success as he embraces his bright future.
