When the founder of the world’s premier academic competition arrived at Sendelta campus with his iconic alpaca, a wonderful exchange about courage, growth and academic exploration began.

3月23日下午，世界学者杯（World Scholar's Cup，简称WSC）创始人Daniel Berdichevsky先生亲临新哲文院，为国际初中的学子们带来一场轻松趣味的全英文TED主题讲座。

On the afternoon of March 23rd, Mr. Daniel Berdichevsky, founder of the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC), visited Sendelta and delivered a fun, all-English TED-style talk to junior high students.

这里没有刻板宣讲，只有真诚交流；不只是赛事解读，更是成长启蒙。新哲少年与学术大咖面对面，在轻松热烈的氛围中，解锁全球学术舞台的独特魅力。

It was a sincere conversation instead of a rigid lecture, offering not just event insights but also growth enlightenment. Sendelta students met face-to-face with an academic giant, unlocking the unique charm of the global academic stage in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.

Daniel Berdichevsky先生拥有斯坦福大学、哈佛大学双硕士学位，是美国学术十项全能历史**分保持者。2006年，他创立世界学者杯，搭建起覆盖60+国家、5万+学子的全球**学术赛事，获得耶鲁大学官方支持。

讲座中，Daniel先生以赛事吉祥物羊驼为趣味主线，用生动幽默的语言，传递WSC的核心理念：这不是一场压力竞赛，而是一场“学习的庆祝”。赛事致力于打破学科壁垒，让知识彼此联结；鼓励孩子接纳不**，坦然面对尝试中的“笨拙”与尴尬，在勇敢参与中共同成长。

Mr. Daniel Berdichevsky holds master’s degrees from Stanford University and Harvard University, and is the highest scorer in the history of the United States Academic Decathlon. In 2006, he founded the World Scholar’s Cup, a world‑class academic event covering more than 60 countries and 50,000+ students, officially supported by Yale University.

In his talk, Mr. Daniel used the alpaca mascot to share WSC’s core idea: it is not a stressful competition, but a celebration of learning. The event breaks subject boundaries, connects knowledge, and encourages students to embrace imperfection, face challenges bravely, and grow together.He explained the alpaca symbolizes courage and the willingness to accept small embarrassments in growth, urging students to speak up confidently.

He also introduced WSC’s four key events: Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Team Bowl. He explained the scoring system, awards, annual themes, and played videos to let students feel the lively WSC atmosphere.

讲座还特邀了新哲初中学子Chloe出席。作为2025年世界学者杯耶鲁**轮全球银奖得主，Chloe不仅是当时参赛选手中年纪最小的学者，更以团体第六、个人第二十四的优异成绩，成为新哲少年的**榜样。她的亮眼表现，为全场少年注入了榜样的力量。

为了让大家更直观地感受WSC的赛场魅力与成长意义，活动现场特别设置了专属荣誉展示区。Chloe与队友从区域轮、全球轮一路晋级耶鲁**轮所斩获的奖牌，以及赛事羊驼吉祥物等周边，悉数在此亮相。

一块块沉甸甸的奖牌、一个个承载纪念意义的藏品，不仅记录着新哲少年逐梦国际赛场的拼搏足迹，更让在场学子真切体会到：年龄从不是界限，热爱与坚持，足以点亮世界舞台。

The event invited Chloe, a Sendelta junior high student and winner of the Global Silver Medal at the 2025 WSC Yale Tournament of Champions. As the youngest participant, she ranked 6th in team and 24th individually, setting an inspiring example.

An honor display showcased Chloe’s medals from regional, global, and Yale rounds, plus alpaca mascots and souvenirs.

These prizes proved that age is no limit—passion and perseverance can shine on the world stage.

Mr. Daniel praised Sendelta for warmly supporting international competitions and encouraging students to compete globally. He commended Chloe: “Age is never a limit to growth. Sendelta students set a benchmark for young people worldwide.”

Sendelta provides personalized teaching, a layered academic curriculum, and a full competition support system. It runs the first research and innovation center among international schools in China, offering a clear path: junior high enlightenment + senior high advancement.

Recently, many Sendelta junior high students have shined on the international stage. They have won gold and top awards in premier competitions including AMC 8, UKMT‑IMC, TOC Asia, IEO, and CTB. Their outstanding academic abilities demonstrate youthful excellence, with a bright future ahead.
