8月底开学前夕，Charlie特意回到母校新哲文院。熟悉的校园，陪伴他多年的绿茵场，一切都让他倍感亲切。他踏上这片草坪，尽情奔跑、畅快射门，重温高中时代的热血与热爱。曾经在球场上挥洒的汗水，和队友并肩作战的一幕幕，仿佛就在昨日。

"The facilities at HKUST are excellent, and there are plenty of extracurricular opportunities that can really broaden my horizons." Just as the new semester began, Charlie shared with us his thoughts as a freshman at HKUST. There was unmistakable excitement in his words—and anticipation for the new chapter ahead.

In late August, shortly before the semester started, Charlie made a special trip back to his alma mater, Sendelta. The familiar campus and the pitch where he had spent so many years made him feel instantly at home. He stepped onto the grass once more, running freely and striking the ball with joy, reliving the passion and love of his high school days. 

From a shy newcomer adjusting to a new school, to captaining the football team to a championship, to fulfilling his dream of attending a top university, what Charlie gained at Sendelta was far more than academic success. It was all-round growth and a love he has never let go of. Today, let's step into his story and discover how this football-loving teenager came into his own.

从小学三年级起，Charlie就爱上了足球。后来受学业压力影响，他一度暂停踢球，直到转入新哲，学校尊重个性，包容特长，用心托举的育人理念，让他重新拥有了尽情施展球技的舞台。

体育是新哲全人教育里至关重要的一部分。学校不会因为学业压缩学生的特长发展空间，反而持续搭建多元体育体系、升级运动硬件、丰富赛事平台，让每一位热爱运动的孩子都能找到展示自我的舞台。标准的足球场、系统的体育课程、丰富的校内运动会、高质量的校际联赛，为Charlie的足球成长，提供了专业、完整、可持续的成长土壤。

2026 ISL深圳国际学校体育联盟足球赛上，面对深圳十所国际学校的强劲对手，身为新哲足球校队队长的Charlie，与队友们一路稳扎稳打、越战越勇。小组赛四战全胜顺利突围，淘汰赛沉着应战、稳步晋级，决赛关键时刻果断破门、一锤定音，最终以六战全胜的不败战绩强势登顶夺冠，充分展现了新哲学子的体育风采与团队实力。

“回看这六场比赛，我们每一场都拼得很认真。尊重每一个对手，拼好每一次球权，做好每一次配合。这座**不只是一个名次，更是我们几年坚持训练的成果，也是学校一直以来支持我们、成全我们的**证明。”Charlie真诚说道。

对他来说，足球最珍贵的从来不是输赢，而是和队友并肩拼搏的氛围。在新哲的包容环境里，他不用为了学业放弃爱好，能和小伙伴们一起尽情投入、享受赛场，这是他高中阶段很珍贵的回忆。

担任足球队队长的经历，也让他收获了很多赛场之外的成长。日常带队训练、配合队友、协调分工，慢慢培养出的责任心和团队协作能力，也潜移默化用到了学习中。在课堂小组作业、课题探究里，他更懂得配合、更擅长统筹梳理，学习状态也更加从容稳定。

哪怕是A1、A2学业最紧张的阶段，学校也给予了他足够的包容和空间，支持他坚持运动。对Charlie而言，踢球是**的解压方式。高强度的学习之余，在绿茵场上奔跑释放压力，让他随时保持良好的心态和学习状态。

新哲的这片操场，完整见证了他整个高中阶段的热血、坚持与蜕变。在这里，他没有因为学业丢掉热爱，反而在学校的托举下，做到了学业、特长双向成长。所以即便已经毕业，Charlie也常常抽空返校，在熟悉的草坪上奔跑、射门，回味自己的青春时光，感念母校的成全与栽培。

这个暑假，Charlie和朋友前往吉尔吉斯斯坦徒步。旅途中，他遇到当地的小朋友，大家随性踢球嬉戏、欢乐互动。那一刻他真切感受到，足球真的没有国界，也更加庆幸，自己在关键的成长阶段，能有学校支持、守住热爱。

如今，新哲三期全新运动场正式启用，1.5万㎡的超大专业运动空间，让学校的体育育人资源再次升级。更好的场地、更完善的设施，能继续成全每一个热爱运动的孩子。看着母校越来越好，Charlie也满心期待，希望以后假期常回新哲，和昔日队友重聚绿茵场，继续奔跑、延续热爱！

Charlie fell in love with football in the third grade. Later, as academic pressure mounted, he had to put the game aside for a while—until he transferred to Sendelta. The school's philosophy of respecting individuality, embracing students' strengths, and nurturing every child gave him back the stage he needed to fully express himself on the pitch.

Sports are an essential part of Sendelta's holistic education. The school never lets academics squeeze out room for students' talents to grow. Instead, it has continued to build a diverse sports system, upgrade athletic facilities, and expand competition platforms, so that every child who loves sports can find a stage to shine. A standard football pitch, a systematic PE curriculum, a rich lineup of school sports meets, and high-quality inter-school leagues—all of these provided Charlie with professional, well-rounded, and sustainable soil for his football development.

At the 2026 ISL Shenzhen International School Sports League Football Tournament, facing strong opponents from ten international schools across Shenzhen, Charlie—captain of the Sendelta football team—led his teammates with steady resolve and growing momentum. They swept all four group-stage matches to advance, stayed composed through the knockout rounds, and sealed the victory in the final with a decisive goal at the crucial moment. With a perfect six-win record, they claimed the championship, showcasing both the athletic spirit and team strength of Sendelta students.

"Looking back at those six matches, we gave everything in every single one. We respected every opponent, fought for every possession, and executed every play. This championship isn't just a ranking—it's the result of years of hard training, and the best proof that our school has always supported us and helped us become who we are," Charlie said sincerely.

For him, the most precious thing about football has never been winning or losing, but the atmosphere of fighting side by side with teammates. In Sendelta's inclusive environment, he never had to give up his passion for the sake of academics. He could throw himself into the game and enjoy every moment with his friends—a memory he holds dear from his high school years.

Serving as football team captain also brought him growth beyond the pitch. Leading daily training, coordinating with teammates, and dividing responsibilities gradually cultivated a sense of responsibility and teamwork that carried over into his studies. In group projects and research assignments, he became better at collaborating and organizing—and his overall academic state grew more relaxed and steady.

Even during the most intense stages of A1 and A2, the school gave him enough understanding and space to keep playing sports. For Charlie, football was the best way to unwind. After long hours of study, running on the pitch and releasing pressure helped him maintain a positive mindset and strong learning condition at all times.

The Sendelta pitch witnessed the passion, perseverance, and transformation of his entire high school journey. Here, he never lost his love for the game because of academics. Instead, with the school's support, he achieved growth in both his studies and his passion. Even after graduating, Charlie often finds time to return to campus, running and shooting on the familiar grass, revisiting his youth and expressing gratitude for his alma mater's support and nurturing.

This summer, Charlie and a friend went hiking in Kyrgyzstan. Along the way, he met local children, and they played football together freely and joyfully. In that moment, he truly felt that football knows no borders—and felt even more fortunate that, at a crucial stage of his growth, he had a school that supported him and helped him hold on to his passion.

Now, Sendelta's Phase III sports facilities have officially opened. With 15,000 square meters of premium athletic space, the school's resources for sports education have been upgraded once again. Better fields and more advanced facilities will continue to help every child who loves sports thrive. Seeing his alma mater improve, Charlie is full of anticipation—he hopes to return often during holidays, reunite with old teammates on the pitch, and keep running, keep loving the game!

转入新哲实验ALevel前，Charlie就读于香港IB学校，高强度、全覆盖的课程模式，让他对自己的学习特点和优势短板有了清晰认知。结合自身的学习节奏与长远发展规划，他最终选择来到新哲，适配更贴合自己特长的A-Level课程赛道，深耕优势学科，稳步奔赴升学目标。

相较于科目繁多、学习覆盖面极广的IB课程，A-Level课程更加灵活聚焦，只需深耕3至4门擅长的科目，就能集中发力、精进突破，这也恰好契合Charlie的学习节奏。在众多学科中，他对数学有着格外浓厚的热爱，在他看来，数学不只是应试科目，更是一套底层、通用的逻辑思维体系。怀揣着强烈的好奇心，他从不局限于课本大纲的基础内容，总愿意主动深挖知识点背后的逻辑，梳理不同概念之间的内在关联。

在持续的探索中，他慢慢发现，看似零散、毫无关联的数学知识点，核心都依托于逻辑推导与批判性思维。为了不断突破自己的知识边界，Charlie主动跳出高中课程框架，自主钻研大学阶段的数学内容与相关研究课题。

日常课余，Charlie也始终保持自主探索的习惯。他长期关注Tom Crawford博士的YouTube科普频道。自主钻研、溯源求真，已然成为他的学习常态。

亮眼的学术突破背后，离不开新哲老师们的悉心托举与全程陪伴。在校学习期间，各科老师都给予了他针对性的指导与帮助。当学业节奏暂时滞后、知识点出现疏漏时，Willin老师、Holger老师会主动关注他的学习状态，结合他的薄弱环节，推送适配的学习资料、习题和知识点总结，帮他查漏补缺。班主任Joyce老师认真负责、细致暖心，全程跟进他的学业进度与身心状态，及时督促学习、疏导压力，时刻为他的高中学业保驾护航。

在至关重要的大学申请阶段，升学指导中心的Amanda老师为他提供了全方位的助力。尤其在文书打磨环节，结合他独特的成长经历、学术钻研故事和竞赛科研亮点，帮他梳理写作思路、优化内容框架、补充优质资源，精准凸显个人优势，让文书更有温度、更具个人特色，为他的港科大申请筑牢基础。

回望充实的高中时光，Charlie最庆幸的，除了学业的稳步成长，就是遇见了一群志同道合的同窗。班级氛围融洽和睦、积极向上，大家彼此陪伴、相互鼓励、共同进步，让繁重的备考和学习生活多了很多温暖与乐趣。对他而言，保持热爱、心怀明朗、开心前行，是贯穿整个青春的人生信条。

如今，Charlie顺利踏入香港科技大学，继续深耕热爱的数学领域。即便大学的专业学习难度更高、挑战更大，但他始终保持着从容笃定的心态。

学校的教授和专业课老师都十分友善、耐心负责，无论是课堂遗留疑问，还是课后延伸的专业难题，无论是当面请教还是邮件沟通，老师们都会细致解答、耐心指导，同时鼓励学生大胆提问、主动探索。

课堂间隙、课后时段，总能看到同学们围在老师身边请教探讨的场景，浓厚的学术氛围，也让他更加坚定初心，在数学领域脚踏实地、持续深耕，稳步奔赴更远的未来。

Before transferring to the A-Level Division of Sendelta, Charlie attended an IB school in Hong Kong. The intensive, all-encompassing curriculum gave him a clear understanding of his own learning style, strengths, and weaknesses. Taking into account his own pace and long-term goals, he ultimately chose Sendelta—a school that offered an A-Level pathway better suited to his strengths, allowing him to focus on his best subjects and steadily work toward his university goals.

Compared with the IB's broad range of subjects and extensive coverage, A-Level is more flexible and focused. Students only need to dive deep into three or four subjects they excel at, concentrating their efforts on sharpening and breaking through. This suited Charlie's learning rhythm perfectly. Among all subjects, he had a particularly deep passion for mathematics. To him, math was not just an exam subject, but a foundational, universal system of logical thinking. Driven by intense curiosity, he never limited himself to the basics of the syllabus—he was always eager to dig deeper into the logic behind each concept and trace the inner connections between different ideas.

Through continuous exploration, he gradually discovered that seemingly scattered, unrelated mathematical concepts all rest on the same core: logical reasoning and critical thinking. To keep pushing beyond his own boundaries, Charlie voluntarily stepped outside the high school curriculum and delved into university-level mathematics and related research topics.

Outside of class, Charlie also maintained a habit of independent exploration. He has long followed Dr. Tom Crawford's YouTube channel. Independent study and a relentless pursuit of truth have become his normal way of learning.

Behind these impressive academic breakthroughs is the dedicated support and constant companionship of his teachers at Sendelta. During his time at the school, every subject teacher gave him targeted guidance and help. When his academic pace temporarily lagged or gaps appeared in his knowledge, teachers Willin and Holger would proactively check in on his learning, identify his weak spots, and send him tailored study materials, exercises, and knowledge summaries to help him fill the gaps and catch up steadily. His homeroom teacher, Joyce, was conscientious and warm-hearted, following his academic progress and well-being every step of the way—urging him on, easing his stress, and safeguarding his high school journey at all times.

At the crucial university application stage, Amanda from the College Counseling Center provided him with comprehensive support. Especially during the essay-polishing process, she drew on his unique growth experiences, academic research stories, and competition and research highlights to help him organize his ideas, refine his content framework, and supplement quality resources—precisely highlighting his strengths and making his essay more personal and compelling, laying a solid foundation for his HKUST application.

Looking back on his fulfilling high school years, what Charlie feels most fortunate about—beyond his steady academic growth—is having met a group of like-minded classmates. The class atmosphere was harmonious and uplifting; everyone accompanied, encouraged, and progressed together, adding warmth and joy to the heavy workload of exam preparation and daily study. For him, staying passionate, keeping a bright heart, and moving forward happily are life principles that have carried him through his entire youth.

Now, Charlie has successfully entered The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, where he continues to delve into his beloved mathematics. Even though university-level study is more challenging and demanding, he maintains a calm and determined mindset. The professors and subject teachers at the university are friendly, patient, and responsible. Whether it's a question left over from class or an extended professional problem after class, whether asking in person or communicating by email, the teachers always provide detailed answers and patient guidance—while encouraging students to ask boldly and explore proactively. During class breaks and after-class hours, students can always be seen gathered around teachers asking questions and discussing ideas. This rich academic atmosphere has only strengthened his original aspiration—to stay grounded in mathematics, keep delving deeper, and steadily move toward a farther future.

In Sendelta's nurturing environment of "lifting up every child with care," he never had to choose between his passion and his studies. He could hold on to his love for football and temper his character and sense of responsibility, while also deepening his academic strengths and pushing beyond his own limits. A young man has his own mountains and seas to cross. With his perseverance, self-discipline, and broad vision, Charlie will surely continue to grow and shine on the new stage at HKUST—moving toward a brilliant future that is uniquely his own.
